Isabel M. Kimball

September 18, 1915 - May 17, 2012

Isabel M. Kimball, 96, of Janesville passed away Thursday, May 17, 2012 at Cozy Lil Acres where she had made her home for the past several years. Isabel was born in Janesville on September 18, 1915, the daughter of Harrison and Ellen (Nolan) Zigler. She attended St. Mary’s Parochial School and graduated from Janesville high School in 1932. Isabel was married to Robert G. Kimball on October 28, 1937 in the rectory of St. Raphael’s Cathedral in Madison by the late Rev. William Mahoney. She was employed at the A.S.C. office in Janesville for several years prior to being a unit clerk at Mercy Hospital where she worked for many years. Over the years, Isabel had been active in the Rock County Historical Society, Catholic  Woman’s Club, the Janesville Woman’s Club, the Senior Center duplicate bridge group  and the Rock County Humane Society. She was a life-long member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church where she belonged to the Over 50 Club.
Isabel is survived by her son-in-law, Don Adams of Waukesha, WI, two granddaughters, Amy (Tim) Carroll of Southlake, TX,  Mary Beth Adams of Pewaukee, WI,  four great-granddaughters, Katherine, Erin and Madeline Carroll, Ellie Adams as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Judith Adams who passed away on March 14, 2011, her husband, Robert Kimball, who died April 25, 1989 , her twin brother, Robert Zigler, two brothers, William Zigler and Joseph Zigler, two sisters, Lois Ward and Jeanne Wiltse.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church , Janesville. Father Stephen Umhoefer will preside. There is no visitation. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made to the Rock  County Humane Society.
